There are many great places in the US where it is sunny in the summer and that makes traveling, more enjoyable and interesting. And, with all the rain most of us have endured for the past several months, sunny destinations sound great! One of the top places in the US for sunny traveling is Yuma, Arizona. This state has the most sun of all the states in our country. It’s been said that it is sunny there 90% of the time and that means from sunrise to sunset. Actually, the brightest and sunniest time there is in December. California is also known for sunny weather and with year round temperatures that are comfortable, clear and enjoyable, traveling is a pleasure. Some say that it doesn’t get too hot there and there is little rain. Another great place where there is ample sun is Hawaii. Those who visit there often say that Hawaii stays in the 80s most of the year and that there is little rain.
Texas and Florida: Plenty of Sunshine
Texas is still another state that has ample sun; however, in Texas it gets much hotter than other southern states. Summers are often in the mid 90s and there is little rain in Texas. Florida is another state that is sunny most of the year. Summertime highs are usually in the 90s. However, there is more rain in Florida—some areas receive up to 45-50 inches of rain a year. Key West is one of the driest and sunniest areas, with an annual rainfall of 39 inches and 76 percent sun. With so much sun, be sure to pack along a good pair of sunglasses.
Georgia and South Carolina: More States with Sunshine
Another sunny state you might be interested in is Georgia. Georgia ranks high when it comes to good weather. Savannah, Georgia is listed as having the warmest winter—with highs in the 60s. With beautiful scenery and many outside activities to entice one, sunny days make Georgia a good summer travel experience. South Carolina also has very pleasant temperatures most of the year—with highs averaging around 57 degrees. And, statistics says that the sun shines at least 53 percent of the time. With all this sun in the above states, be sure to take with you a good pair of sunglasses, for they will protect and add style to your traveling enjoyment.
