If you’re traveling abroad this summer there is no better way than to experience the culture than to enjoy its beer. There are literally thousands of pubs, taverns, restaurants and bars around the world that serve a wide variety of beer that is waiting for you to discover.
Europe
One of the most common European beers is ale. This beer is traditionally found in England and is brown in color, thicker than most lagers and a little bitter. If you’re visiting a local pub or tavern be sure to first ask the bartender for a local ale because this will give you a taste of the local flavor before moving onto to other beers. Some of the best examples of local ales are Newcastle Brown, London Pride or Hobgoblin. These are all excellent local ales.
Even though Europeans love their ales they also love their ales they also love their lagers and also consume lagers in large quantities. Some of the best lagers to look for in Europe are Stella Artois, Chimay, Duval, Grolsch, Pilsner Urquell, Westmalle, New Castle, Young’s Double Chocolate Stout and Alkoholfreies Pils.
Latin America
When traveling through Latin America any beer lover will be able to easily find beers that they are familiar with back in the United States like Corona, Pacifico and Dos Equis but for those beer lovers who want to try real Latin American beers they should look for Bohemia, Presidente Victoria, Negra Modelo and Imperial.
Asia
If you’re traveling in Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand or any part of Asia you can easily find American favorites like Coors or Miller but if you’re adventurous, one thing is for certain, there are plenty of great Asian beers to be enjoyed. Some of the best that you should look for are: Hitachino Nest Celebration Ale, Sapporo, Singha, Kirin, Tsingtao and Singha.
