Joey Summers is an older than average college freshman just hoping to get a degree. Working for Dr. Rafe Bowen helped her pay the bills. Working with Will Martin was a definite perk to the job. Getting caught up in secret societies and being hunted was not in her career plans.
I applaud Ms. Jordan’s presentation of an idea that has been used by many writers over the years. I only wish I could present such a fun and exciting twist on an old favorite. I felt that the resolution left me hanging a bit, as I don’t think the cult will let it end there, but remain hopeful, as she has at least one more book in the same series, that perhaps a permanent solution will be found.
