Renee is a fledgling vampire, turned by an Outcast as he tried to avoid a Slayer. She had no desire to be turned, she didn’t even know vampires existed. This new life was going to be torture for her. Eli is a hunter and a loner. The last thing he needs is to babysit a new vampire, especially one that is sexy enough to make him forget all his morals. Unfortunately, no one else will do it, so it is up to him to keep her safe and do all he can to prevent her from turning Outcast.
I loved this story. I can’t say enough about it. Eli was the perfect alpha male. There was no doubt that he was alpha, king of his world, but Renee wrapped him around her finger faster than you could say “in love”. Renee was strong, insecure and determined to live her life unafraid. I got sucked into their emotions and actions, reading until 5am. Twists and turns abound, as every time I thought the story could come to a happy ending, Ms. Elias threw another unexpected wrench, and then brought it all together in equally unexpected ways. Ms. Elias is a dynamic and powerful writer, and created an incredible world of characters. I will continue to follow her career avidly and eagerly.
