April Johnson is unsure she wants to go to her 10th year High School Reunion, but decides to go anyway. When there she re-meets Richard Slick. Nerd turned hunk. She falls for him quickly, but when Marcus Dawson shows up, her body reacts to him in much the same way. April decides who she wants to be with, and is satisfied it is the right choice. If she had known the heartbreak that would follow, would she have chosen differently?
I loved this book. It made me laugh, cheer, cry. April goes through ups and downs that every woman goes through, and some that hopefully you never have to go through. In the process she learns a lot about herself and her capacity to love.
The two problems I had with this book were Marcus didn’t explain his actions well enough for me and the editing wasn’t up to par for Samhain, including the constant use of “and I” when “and me” would have been more appropriate. Despite having said that, it was written well enough that although mistakes pulled me out of the book, the story pulled me back in. Even Marcus not explaining himself enough for me was okay, because he explained himself enough for April. I can see myself reading this story again and again, with a box of tissues by my side and my honey handy for a hug.
