Paul Gordon needs to make a new life for himself. His partner of 6 years died 14 months ago, and Paul realizes he needs to make a change. Buying a house on the other side of the country sounds like a good idea to him at the time. Cory Saunders lives in the small town of Willow Bend, South Carolina. He has lived there with his mother all his life. Now that she is ill from a brain tumor, he dedicates all his energy to her, working two jobs and taking care of her ‘round the clock. That is, until he meets Paul one day at work.
Neither man is looking to fall in love. One isn’t ready for it again, the other has too much on his plate. But fate has a different plan in mind for them, as they find themselves drawn to each other despite all the difficulties facing them.
Once again, I think Ms. Blue has done a wonderful job. I felt for the characters, I celebrated with them, I was sad with them. The shifting emotions and realistic situations, along with the strong characterization, brought the story to life. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Blue’s work.
