Sheriff Steve Lambert has promised Kate Madison he will find the
killer of her adopted father, but has no clues to go on. Hell, when
he is with Kate, the only thing that seems to be on his mind is
her. Kate has decided her attraction for the sheriff is nothing
more than the typical affirmation of life after a loved one passes
on, but the attraction grows instead of tapering off, and it is all
she can do to keep her hands off him. Throughout this tug of war
over their emotions, Kate and Steve need to work to find a murderer
before he can kill again.
I enjoyed this story a lot. The mystery had enough confusing clues
to keep you guessing up to the very end, and even then maybe leaving
you in a little bit of a shock. The relationship between Kate and
Steve isn't all love and roses once they admit their attraction to
each other, as there are some serious kinks that they need to work
out. It has been a while since I have read a romantic suspense
novel I have enjoyed as much as this one.
