When Jameela is bought at a slave auction by the mysterious and handsome Dagan, she doesn't realise that he's buying her not for himself, but as the potential plaything for a group of warriors known as The Conclave. Dagan trains her in the ways of pleasure before she's offered to the Conclave, one of whom will select her as his property and wife – but it's Dagan that she loves. But he cannot take her as his woman – not just because she is chosen by the Grand Master of the Conclave, but for other, more personal reasons…
To reveal any more would be to ruin the plot, which takes a remarkable number of twists and turns, sweeping the reader along in this fabulous tale of vampire shape-shifters with whom followers of Boyett-Compo's other works will be well familiar.
When I first receive a virtual pile of e-books, I like to skim through each one to get a feel for it before I sit down and read it at a later date. With 'Desire's Sirocco', though, I found myself literally unable to tear myself away from it, and soon enough 'a quick look' had turned into reading the first chapter, then the next, then the next… There's no higher praise I can give than that. This is a wonderful, evocative, sensual feast of a book, with wonderful characters, exciting action, high drama, and some truly scorching sex scenes. Don't miss this book!
