England, 1906 – Adrien is held captive by two vampires, Devon and Lilith, intent on turning him from a hunter – or 'shadow-stalker'- to one of their kind. As the killer of Lilith's sister Ariel, Adrien is tormented by the beautiful demon before his punishment. He's forced to drink her infected blood, and becomes a vampire.
Present day - Adrien, still uncomfortable with his existence as a vampire and a shadow-stalker, has only a matter of months to prevent the birthing of a new race, Devon's children by his wife Rachel. Devon is aware that Adrien will try to eliminate Rachel, and so he hires a vampire and slayer, Morgan, to get to Adrien first.
But Adrien has a shapely distraction coming his way, in the form of human heiress Cassie. When he rescues her from a date gone badly wrong, there's a spark of attraction between them. But Cassie hides a terrible secret – she's dying of cancer. When Morgan catches up with Adrien, he seizes Cassie instead, luring Adrien into a confrontation with both Devon and Rachel…
Book 2 in the Kith & Kynn series, 'Sins of Flesh' packs a real punch from the start. The sex is hot and enticing, the plot tight and well written. Adrien was an incredibly sexy hero who really captivated me, and I loved Cassie's attitude. Their growing relationship and the truth that Cassie is hiding was superbly executed. The most impressive thing about this book was how both the Kith and the Kynn are portrayed: written sympathetically, neither is demonised even though both sides are trying to destroy the other. It's left to the reader to decide which side to take – and I'm sure every reader will have their favourites. This is a truly great book – don't miss it.
