Donovan is an FBI Agent, assigned to a serial murder case. He's identified the connection between the victims; now he just needs to protect the next in line, before the Broadway Killer strikes again. The job just got a whole lot shorter, with only three remaining women on the list. Donovan heads to Manhattan to watch over one of them: Olivia Weston. Twenty-five, on stage since she first learnt to dance, sexy as hell and far too young for widower Donovan to be thinking about - right?
Imagine The Bodyguard with treble the angst, and you'll be getting close. Donovan is an impressive, closed-mouthed, masculine hero; while Olivia slowly transforms into someone very much in control of her own destiny.
The romance is eminently believable and a pleasure to follow, with the age difference played upon a fair bit. Although in years (15), it might not be that remarkable, in terms of maturity the two do begin some distance apart. Olivia at the start of the story seems far beneath her age; cowed by a domineering father and a successful career. Under Donovan's influence, she gains confidence and begins to make her own decisions.
This is a good story, with a strong sense of drama. Recommended for Bodyguard fans the world over ;-)
