Slade, an FBI agent, is at a party when he sees Jessie, the young woman he's lusted after since she turned sixteen. Jessie has always loved Slade, but she never expected to get him. Compared with Amy, she thinks she's a country bumpkin who's too young for him. When she finds out that he has to 'marry' Amy, she's heart-broken. Five years later she's still pining for him, even though she thinks she's moved on to another relationship. When Slade comes back through her door, she realises she has to finally deal with the past and face her future – if the men in her life will let her!
The sex scenes in this book are blisteringly hot, graphic and erotic from the very first encounter. While the sex was more than well-written, I wish there'd been a bit more initial set-up for the characters so I could feel some empathy with them. Three chapters of full-on sex without advancing the plot is more porn than erotica. However, the real heart of the book begins a little further on, and Jessie's journey from naïve youngster through disillusioned cynic to a woman reunited with true love makes for compelling reading.
