Javel has gone undercover on the detention planet Zurin 5 in an
attempt to locate the source of the most dangerous drug in the Andromeda galaxy.
The manufacturers bribe him, making him a billionaire… but there's one
small problem – the planet could explode at any minute! Javel's colleague
Xerna thinks she has bigger problems – she's about to come on heat, and the only male who shares her genetic make-up is Javel… or is there another candidate?
This is a fast-paced, exciting read in a superbly realised sci-fi
universe. Javel and Xerna are a great couple with amazing tension between them, and Xerna's on-off attraction for Javel as she tries to rationalise past her mating emotions will have you on the edge of your seat, especially when Lucas enters the equation! There are some big themes here, too, about loyalty and betrayal; and I was especially moved by the chapter in which Javel teaches Xerna about her genetic heritage, telling her how to see in the dark. The plot never drags for a second, and you'll be racing to turn the pages as Javel and Xerna fight against prisoners and drug addicts in their effort to get off the planet before it explodes. First rate action and a great romance. Even if you're not a sci-fi fan, I recommend this book.
