What does the word Scary mean to you?
Do you think Vampires, maybe Werewolves or Shapeshifters?
How about Mummies or Zombies?
All extremely good answers for things that can be scary.
But let's not forget the obvious. Creepy crawlies like spiders, slithery
snakes, a dank dark alley, a bone chilling scream, or even eerie sounds.
Ever have someone jump out at you? Can you think of
anything more exhilarating than being frightened? The adrenaline rush
you get as your heart rate increases; your senses sharpen, your body
reading itself for action.
There is nothing like it!!
What if I say Something Wicked this Way Comes?
Do you picture the musical scores from classic horror
movies? The creepy music fades in just before the climactic moment. Your
body tenses knowing something is about to happen. The suspense building,
the victim walks onto the screen… she looks around. Her eyes get huge,
terrified, starring into the shadows around her. (Cause you know the
victim is almost always a woman!) then… then… Thud!! She's attacked.
You and everyone else in the room jumps out of their
seats. Some cry out in surprised fright, others laugh at getting caught
by surprise. You know it's coming, you prepare yourself for it. But it
still gets you every time, and you always end up going back for more.
Things have changed since the golden age of cinema. When
Vincent Price the Master of Fright himself ruled the screen with his
deep throaty voice, luring and lulling you into a false sense of
security. Back then you always knew who the bad guys were.
But today, that dark sexy Vampire could be the hero,
trying to atone for his tortured past. Desperately clinging to that bit
of humanity he has left.
Or the Werewolf with a sense of honor, searching through
time for his soul mate. Knowing that only she can save him from his dark
primal urges.
No matter what your preferences are, you know there's
something wicked out there for everyone's tastes.
Revel in the fright and enjoy the stories.
