ER: Tell us a bit about yourself and your Art?

Jet: I'm a dreamer with a huge practical streak. My mind is always on some fantasy story or image, even while I'm working my day job which is not remotely artistic.

ER: What made you want to become an artist?

Jet: Darn good question. Wish I knew the answer. I do my art because I have to. It's not a matter of "want". It's what draws me. It centers my mind and helps to straighten out my thoughts. It's almost how I think.

ER: How did you get started?

Jet: I started doing the art I do now in 1998 when a friend introduced me to Poser and Bryce. I was amazed by what I could do and, actually, I'm still amazed what the programs allow me to come up with. I've sketched all my life but never really liked my free hand art. 3D art has allowed me to produce stuff like I always wanted to draw.
I wanted to do websites or graphic art-professional stuff-for awhile back in the '90s. But I discovered really quickly that doing sites and graphics for me was one thing and doing it for other people was another. And if people paid me to do it, I was kind of stuck doing it their way. Somewhat. So I just kept doing my own stuff and putting it on my website.

Dark Elves: Jarak

ER: What inspires you?

Jet: Good looking men! Colors. My boyfriend. Fantasy and sci-fi stories and settings. Just about everything.

ER: Who are your favorite artists?

Jet: Vallerio and Royo. Olivia. Will Kraemer-an awesome Poser artist! April Martinez and Christine Griffin (who do cover art for the same publisher that I do)

ER: How long have you been creating artwork?

Jet: I've been doing 3D graphics since 1998. I've been pencil drawing most of my life.

ER: What type of medium do you prefer to work in?

Jet: 3D computer graphics. Poser is my main program, with Photoshop and Photopaint for postwork. I've worked with other programs like Bryce and Vue d'Espirt but it all starts in Poser.

ER: Do you prefer a specific type of artwork...for instance...if digital...then what is your favorite software to use?

Jet: See above

Shapeshifter Men

Lighthouse

ER: When you create digitally do you use...Mac or PC?

Jet: PC all the way. I can't get the hang of Macs

ER: Do you have a favorite piece?

Jet: There's one that I did called Eclipse that I love http://www.computerotika.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?pos=-72
Another is Conquered  http://www.computerotika.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?pos=-185
And I'm particularly proud of most of my Dark Elves series

Dark Elves: Salin & Radin

ER: Where can your work be found or purchased?

Jet: All of my work is up on my website at http://www.computerotika.com . A few of my pieces can be purchase through Zazzle.com, but you need to have an adult account to see them. http://www.zazzle.com/contributors/home/default.asp?cid=238478617802734860

ER: Any advice you'd like to give new artists?

Jet: Don't expect or demand people notice you. Just keep doing your stuff and putting it out there. Eventually, people will discover you. Be patient and be persistent.
