Hank's sighing again.  Mme. Enchanté has been tsk-tsking under her breath for the past hour or so, hoping that he'd get the hint, but no such luck: he has this month's copy of Harleys-for-Barmen and he's not moving an inch until he's read it from cover to cover, drooling on each and every page.

Thankfully, Mme. Enchanté has a plan.  She intends to distract Hank with her latest visitor - biker-chick Amy Mistretta - just long enough to grab the magazine and run.  Well... saunter.  You wouldn't expect Mme. Enchanté to exert herself, would you?

If you have an alias or pen name, what is it?

No, I don't, just me, Amy Mistretta

Tell us about yourself?

First and foremost I'm a wife and mother to two great kids, a thirteen-pound cat and a 5-pound Yorkshire terrier. Oh, and did I mention, I love to cruise the open roads on the back of my hubby's Harley? Yep, I'm a biker chic at heart. But by day, when the house is quiet, I love nothing more than to sit in my office and create novels full of scandal and passion with characters for my readers to fall in love with over and over again…

Anything special the readers should know about you?

I love to hear from my readers and always personally respond to each email.

How long have you been writing?

I've been writing full-time for about five years now and loving every minute of it!

Where do you typically find your inspiration?

Believe it or not, a lot of my inspiration for my novels comes from dreams. You'd be amazed at how many different ideas you can get for a novel by just jotting down things you remember from your dreams.

What genre do you write in?

I started off writing contemporary romance but have found my passion in writing romantic-suspense.

Do you cross over to other genres?

No, I typically stick to writing romantic-suspense.

Is it harder or easier to stay in one genre or to move back and forth?

I, personally, like to stay in one genre.

Who has influenced you in your writing?

I'm a huge fan of Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown and consider them both to be my mentors. Even though they don't know it!

What books do you have out?

My first two romance novels have recently gone out-of-print.

And do you have something new coming out?

Yes, I do! I have two romantic-suspense novels coming out. "Alone in Forrester Rock" will be released this July with RockWay Press and "Secrets Within" will be out in E-Book on September 5, 2006 and in print on December 19, 2006. My first two novels will also be reprinted and available in 2007 with Rockway Press.

 Where can they be purchased?

Both novels can be found or ordered at any bookstore or online at places such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble. "Secrets Within" will be stocked at most Borders books locations.

Are you doing any sinning or appearances soon?

As soon as my novels are released, I will be holding many signings and appearances. Locations are listed on my website with the dates to be posted as I get them.

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?

If you have a passion for reading and writing, with an imagination to go with it, you can create a wonderful novel. Write what you know. Remember…a writer should never force himself or herself to write. We write because we just can't help ourselves! Most importantly, never give up on your dreams… Always feel free to email me Amy@AmyMistretta.com with any questions. You can also visit my website to sign up for my monthly newsletter, which contains a section where the reader can ask questions about writing and publishing. http://www.AmyMistretta.com

Do you have a website or a blog?

Readers can visit me at my website at: http://www.AmyMistretta.com

Do you prefer for your fans to mail or email you?

Most of the fan mail I receive is through email at: Amy@AmyMistretta.com

Other than being a writer, did you ever picture yourself doing anything else?

Don't laugh, but I always wanted to be a Private Investigator! Hmm… Maybe that's an idea for a heroine in my next book!

If you had time off to do whatever you like, what would you do?

I'd grab my husband and whisk him off to a very secluded, very private island and be a beach bum for weeks on end! Of course, my laptop would be in tow.

Is there a favorite author you haven't met that you'd like to?

I'd love to meet either Nora Roberts or Sandra Brown, who I've had the pleasure of speaking with in email.

I want to thank everyone at Enchanted Ramblings for having me! ~Amy Mistretta

Many thanks to Amy for speaking with Hank!
